Elle O'Brien is a researcher and lecturer at the School of Information. She holds degrees in math, neuroscience and speech science. After graduating from her doctoral studies at the University of Washington, Elle worked as an advocate for open source software tools like Data Version Control. At the University of Michigan, Elle conducts research on how scientists work with increasingly complex datasets, modeling techniques, and computing infrastructure. She is broadly interested in building the capacity of scientific research organizations to conduct data-intensive research that serves public interests.
